Amen, Patrick! Thank you. We need positive thought and the follow up introduction to a new young Representative with a thoughtful, collaborative spirit was perfect.

I can try to transcribe the full response for you later, but, to summarize from memory, it was essentially administrative and financial:

-They lost 14 of 50 sworn deputies in the 18 months following passage.

-To recruit new deputies, they've had to lower hiring standards, including accepting candidates with criminal records.

-Staffing shortages led to canceled days off and vacations and cost taxpayers more in overtime.

-Deputies used many of the new provisions while negotiating a new contract, getting themselves a 17% (I think) raise, obviously making the department more costly to operate.
