With everything happening in the world, the Washington media circus will be solely focused on the House Speaker’s race this week. Rep. Mary Miller (R-Hindsboro) is behind Rep. Jim Jordan. Punchbowl reported last night that Rep. Mike Bost (R-Murphysboro) is leaning toward Rep. Steve Scalise. He hasn’t made a public statement, but I think the general feeling is Rep. Darin LaHood (R-Peoria) will be with Scalise, too.
Veto session begins in two weeks. Governor Pritzker speaks at the Jewish United Fund’s Israel Solidarity Gathering in Glencoe this morning. He will also attend the Eli’s Cheesecake expansion groundbreaking on the northwest side. He participates in a conversation on leadership at the University of Chicago at 5:30.

PUSH ON FOR VETO SESSION ACTION ON FUNDING FOR MIGRANTS
Even after Governor JB Pritzker said last week more state funding for Chicago’s ongoing migrant crisis was unlikely, it discussions are ongoing for potential legislative action during the fall veto session, which begins in Springfield in two weeks.
