THE ILLINOIZE: Sources: Niemerg to be removed from ballot...Does it matter Trump didn't sign loyalty oath?...More Bost/Bailey bickering over guns

Good morning, Illinois
There wasn’t a lot new to write about it, but the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear a petition from Rep. Dan Caulkins (R-Decatur) to hear his challenge of the Illinois assault weapon ban. The federal case is still ongoing and far more likely to wind up in front of SCOTUS.
The General Assembly returns a week from today, but we’re not expecting a lot of major action before the March 19 primary.
There’s nothing on Governor Pritzker’s public schedule today. He hasn’t had a public event since December 14.
