Our friend Jon Seidel of the Chicago Sun-Times reported last night that indicted former House Speaker Michael Madigan’s attorneys are still planning for an October trial, even though there are questions about whether a recent Supreme Court ruling will impact corruption charges against the former Speaker. So, at a minimum, they’re expecting a superseding indictment that may change the scope of the charges against Madigan. The trial of the century.

CABELLO ENTERS GOP CHAIRMAN RACE
A third candidate has jumped into the race to succeed Don Tracy as Illinois Republican Party chairman.
Multiple sources say Rep. John Cabello (R-Machesney Park) is making calls to members of the GOP’s State Central Committee seeking support to become party chairman.
