THE ILLINOIZE: Back for more in 2024...Bost hits the airwaves (we have the ad first)...Assault weapon registry...Madigan
January 3, 2024
Good morning, Illinois.
Welcome back. It’s a new year full of new possibilities and the same old politicians. You’ve been warned.
We’re going to try something a little different tomorrow. We’ll be hosting a Livestream at 1pm on our YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter pages with the great Ray Long of the Chicago Tribune. We want to hear from you on the Burke trial, the upcoming Madigan trial, the ComEd Four, corruption, and politics. Drop me a note ahead of time with your questions or comment at mailbag@theillinoize.com. We won’t include your name unless you specifically ask to. You can also submit questions and comments on Twitter or during the show tomorrow. See you then!
Best wishes to Senate Republican Communications Director Ellie Leonard, who is leaving the caucus on January 29. She’s been out on maternity leave, but will be joining Ameren. She’s a fellow Iroquois County kid, so you know she’s a good one.
The legislature is out until the 16th. There’s nothing on Governor Pritzker’s public schedule today. He hasn’t had a public event since December 14.
Let’s get to it.
