SATURDAY UPDATE: House sends budget to Pritzker...Your post-session cheat sheet

Good morning, subscribers.
The House was in session until after 3:00 a.m. and sent the state budget to the Governor before adjourning.
Barring anything unforeseen, the legislature won’t be back in Springfield until late October.
So, the House is out, the Senate is out, and there’s nothing on Governor Pritzker’s public schedule.
It’s been a long week. Unless something big happens, we’ll be taking Monday off and I may or may not have a newsletter Tuesday. We’ll see.

HOUSE PASSES BUDGET, PRITZKER EXPECTED TO SIGN
As expected, Democrats in the Illinois House advanced a Fiscal Year 2024 state budget to Governor JB Pritzker’s desk early Saturday morning.
The final budget was passed after 2:30 a.m. Saturday after mid-week wrangling delayed passage in the Senate that forced the House into overnight action Saturday.
