With 96% of precincts reporting, Rep. Harry Benton (D-Plainfield) leads GOP challenger Gabby Shanahan by around 2,000 votes with just two precincts left outstanding.

Benton has 24,168 votes to Shanahan’s 22,020 votes, that’s 52% for Benton and 48% for Shanahan.
